No, you don’t have to be exceptionally good at math to become a pilot, but a fundamental understanding of math is essential. Most of the math involved is relatively simple and includes basic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. For example, you’ll need to calculate the distance you can travel with a certain amount of fuel or figure out the time it will take to reach your destination based on your speed.
